I am using this pillow for my second pregnancy. For my first I used only a cheap Wal*Mart body pillow and my back and hips paid the price. This pillow took some getting used to. By the third or fourth night, I figured out how to sleep well with this pillow. I had to stick with it and am happy I did! It keeps my hips and back aligned, that is... until I wind up on my back draped over it. I know back sleeping will soon be impossible as my belly grows. For now (4 months along) the pillow isn't really necessary but does help me fall and stay asleep much better than my regular pillow did. I feel supported surrounded on both sides. I can recall from my first pregnancy that I used my husband's back for support towards the end. I do get warm in this pillow sometimes, but generating a lot of body heat is just part of being pregnant. Ditch the blankets and clothes and you'll still be hot--at least with the pillow you won't be aching.

I really enjoy how the pillow against my belly and between my legs takes a lot of pressure off my already overworked bladder. Before using this pillow I was getting up to use the bathroom a whole lot more at night! My only complaint if that sometimes my neck hurts. The pillow just isn't as nice as the contour pillow I used before. I wish I could use it while using this!

Update at of 7/17: I am now in my eighth month of pregnancy and the only way I can sleep comfortably is with this pillow. I do tend to get hot with the pillow and so have given up sleeping with any blankets. Still, compared to my last pregnancy, I am sleeping so much better. I have had no back or hip pain yet!

Overall, a good buy. Sleep is important while pregnant and every little trick helps, especially towards the end. I am hoping that by my third trimester this pillow continues to keep me comfortable!

**I have a king sized bed. I don't see how this pillow would work in anything smaller than a Queen and still have room for your spouse!

My husband, Jeff got this for me since I was having trouble sleeping at night. I was told it is always best to sleep on your left side to give your baby proper blood flow, etc. After doing so for two nights I began to experience horrible hip pains and would also find myself lying flat on my back when I woke up (which I am told is usually not the best thing for your baby- ha, I read alot of books, can you tell?) When this pillow arrived, I thought, well, what a funny shaped booger!" But, oh my goodness it has done WONDERS for me. For one, you can put the one long pillow arm between your thighs giving your hips better alignment. Also the pillow arm behind you will support your back so you safely stay on your side. The best part? You can take the cover off and machine wash it at any time, and it will fit back on pretty easily!

The only negative reaction I have is that the slipcover is not as soft as I'd like - I'm spoiled with 1000 thread count sheets. I was having terrible hip pain and tossing and turning. Now, when I toss I land on the arm on the other side and I cradle my back against the arm behind me. But I'm tossing less because wrapping my arms and legs around the pillow relieves some of the pressure on my hips. And the pillow is well-stuffed and very firm. It's a pregnancy life saver. Sleep is very important!
